Want to be a Game Designer?
Learn the fundamentals of socially responsible video game design at this 3-part Mouse Squad UnPlugged Workshop Series!
What's a Serious Game?
Great question! Serious games are games with a purpose beyond just being fun - like a game where you also happen to be learning about global issues, history and politics as you play! Last year students created a paper prototype for this game about the earthquake in Japan. Their game is called Lost in Tokyo:

HOW DOES IT WORK?
Squads who participate in these workshops will have EXCLUSIVE access to Mouse's soon-to-be-released Serious Games Specialist Certification system (which will work just like the Garage Robotics Certification). We are looking for ambitious squads to test it out and go where few Squads have gone before! As you work on the curriculum activities at your school, you will attend three hands-on workshops facilitated by Mouse.
WHEN:
In order for your squad to participate, you must attend all 3 required workshops:
- #1: Thursday, March 29th 4pm - 6:30pm
- #2: Thursday, April 5th 4pm - 6:30pm
- #3: Thursday, April 19th 4pm - 6:30pm
WHERE:
The Island School - 442 East Houston Street - New York, NY 10002 Map It!
You must attend ALL 3 Workshops to participate in this series!
Any squad working on Serious Games is eligible to present their final project at the 4th annual Emoti-Con Youth Media & Technology Festival at the New School on Saturday, June 4th, 2012!
